EPXC Color Run

In 2014, the Estes Park Cross Country decided to host it Inaugural 'Color Run'. It was started as a way to EPXC to have its 'own' fundraising event that they could call their very own. The EPXC Color Run is a two-fold event: One, it is a way to promote healthiness and happiness by bringing the Estes Park community together for the most preeminent 1-mile race one has ever done, and, Two, it is an active fundraiser for the cross-country team to be able to participate in numerous team-building and community enhancing activities throughout the year. Additionally, the race is run the Friday of EPHS's Homecoming Week to celebrate this festive week.

In 2015, EPXC broaden its groundwork of the Color Run by an enormous extent of support from Estes Park's local businesses. This was not only from active participation but also their donations to making this race come to life.

EPXC's Color Run follows a mellow course around the EPHS campus, however, conquering the arduous hill along Community Drive. Runners go through 3 different ‘color stations’ as well as have EPXC runners following every step as participants get covered from head-to-toe in purple & white powder. Run finishers leave the race looking like bobcats super fans, covered in school colors, and ready to cheer at the EPHS Homecoming football game.

As a team, its great to share EPXC’s passion for running with the past, present and future generations of runners here in Estes Park. As high school students, the opportunity to be a part of the community and helping build the connections between runners is encouraging. Being a part of these traditions is a memorable experience. As these young adults go on to conquer other parts of life; they will always be part of this tradition.

Please come out and support the EPXC program! Mark your calendars for next year’s ‘Color Run’ during EPHS’s Homecoming Week…its promises to be an incredible time.
