This was a solid week for Estes Park Cross Country; plus EPXC has got a TON of stuff coming up this week. Please read carefully below:
Patriot League Meet Recap:
Congratulations to both of the EPXC teams on finishing 2nd place in the Patriot League! Both teams significantly improved on their projected places and likely surprised some of the league teams in the process. These 2nd place finishes make both teams the highest placing Bobcat athletic teams in conference competition in at least the past year and probably longer.
The EPXC boys ran in the first race section led by Finn who placed 4th earning All-League honors and improved his course time by 2:33. Right on Finn's tail was Nathan, who placed 5th and also earned All-League honors. Our 3rd man was Lucas, who placed 11th and receives All-League Honorable Mention recognition as a sophomore! Mason and Derrick rounded out our top 5, Mason was in the top 20 (19th). The EPXC boys also had stand out performances from Cole (-10s course PR), Woody (-35s PR), and Blake (-2:38 course PR).
The EPXC girls team ran in the second race section and were led by Mae who placed 6th, earning All-League honors with a -3s course PR. Annalise also earned All-League honors finishing 7th. Charly came across the line 3rd for the ladies and finished 21st as a freshman! Zoe was our 4th runner, finishing in 26th with a -34s course improvement. Sam finished 5th for ladies, locking in our 2nd place team finish with a -1:19 course improvement! The remaining EPXC lady runners all ran great races, setting either a lifetime or course PR. Eva (-1:30 course PR/ 35s PR), Melia (25s course PR/ 11s PR), Andra (1:37 course PR), and Daffeny (36s course PR).

Saturday Mandatory Practice (10/14):
The EPXC team will meet at the high school for a mandatory practice from 9:30am-12:00pm on Saturday. Please email Coach Harris or Coach Stafford if you will not be able to attend and we will give you the workout.
Next Race - 3A Region 4 XC Meet (10/19):
Estes Park Cross Country’s next race is not until a week from this Thursday. This is the Regional Meet which qualifies teams for the CHSAA State XC Meet. Only the top 4 teams and top 15 individuals will advance to the state meet. This meet is also limited to 9 entries for the boys and girls race. Coaches will be sending more information out about this meet and our entries early next week.
Team Shirts/ Parent T-Shirts:
Athletes, if you have not done so already, please bring your $8 for the team shirt to practice by the end of this week.
If you ordered a parent shirt, they are done and ready for pick-up. If you still want a parent shirt, we ordered a few extras in various sizes, so let either coaches know. These shirts will be $10 each.
We are really excited about the excellent performances of the EPXC team this past weekend and hope that everyone will be able to direct the momentum of this weekend's excitement, positivity, and competitiveness into the last 3 weeks of the season. Please keep in mind that from this point on, nothing is guaranteed and we will need everyone to run their strongest performances of the season at the Regional Meet if we want to punch our tickets for the state meet. During the next week and a half, we need all runners to be more deliberate than ever in doing all of the "little things" that will help us be successful on October 19th (regionals). This team has a long tradition of qualifying for the state meet and we have full confidence that this team will continue to live up to that legacy.
