Coach Harris and Stafford hope that everyone is enjoying their summer! Estes Park Cross Country had some GREAT results this past Friday at the Roger’s River Run – Greenway Glow 5K. Here’s a quick recap: First and foremost, ALL EPXC runners/coaches placed in the top-20. Finn Tierney - 4th O.A., Mason Ginter - 8th O.A., Nathan Zurfluh – 9th O.A., Coach Stafford - 12th O.A., Derek Hamel -16th O.A., Sam Crouse - 18th O.A./2nd O.A. female! There will be a couple of more chances to jump in a 5K over the summer; next one will be the Allenspark 5K…more details to follow as it gets closer.

Here is the upcoming week, please read carefully below:

Monday - O.Y.O (On Your Own) run. Please coordinate amongst your teammates to get out for some easy miles.

Tuesday - Stanley Run @ 5:30PM (meet at Steamers Cafe). Choose from 3, 4, 5 or 6 low-key/easy effort miles AND stick around afterwards for a FREE delicious pasta dinner served by the Stanley staff. Yummy!

Wednesday – Pole Hill Rd. Trail Run @ 6:30AM; Coach Stafford’s favorite run, LOL. EPXC will meet at the top of Pole Hill Rd. at the entrance to the National Forest across from Alpine St.; past Ravencrest Chalet. Most runners have been bringing some sort of hydration pack or bottle, so please ensure you have those with you. We’ll go over the route the morning of. Pancakes served afterwards.

Thursday – Scratch Deli @ 6:30AM. EPXC will meet in the parking lot and do a steady uphill past the Beaver Meadows entrance to RMNP then turnaround for some nice downhill. Bring some $$ for afterwards. Scratch Deli serves up pretty awesome breakfast burritos.

IMPORTANT: Coach Harris, Stafford, & Soviak would also like to send a quick note regarding the annual ‘Shed’ clean-up. This will be after the run & breakfast at 9:30AM. ‘The Shed’, as its referred to by the Estes Park Cross Country and Track & Field teams, is the small building inside Bobcat Stadium where EPXC and EPHS T&F meet before practices.

Every summer, students and parents lend a hand to clean it up for the upcoming school year. This gives each of you, XC runners, ownership in your program. Additionally, it provides a ‘home-base’ like its yours; its your home away from home. Coach Harris, Stafford & Soviak want each of you to ‘own’ it and take care of it.

The clean up shouldn’t last more than a couple of hours. PLEASE make every effort to be there.

Friday - O.Y.O (On Your Own) run. Please coordinate amongst your teammates to get out for some easy miles.

Here's to another awesome week ahead! Happy Running and GO BOBCATS!
