Things have started to pick up speed (not just EPXC runners) as we start getting into the thick of the season, EPXC runners are finding their stride, and we have a lot of events coming up in next month. Please read carefully...

St. Vrain Recap:

EPXC had an excellent showing at the St. Vrain Invite this past Saturday. In summary, the team had 3 individuals finish in the top-20, 4 course PR's, and 8 lifetime PR's!

The varsity girls ran in the first race of the day and were led by Annalise Basch who finished 20th overall in 22:25, a -2:09 improvement from her time on this same course last year. The girls also had notable finishes from Zoe Stein, who ran a time -1:11 from her time last year, Julia McMillan who took -4:25 off of her best 5k time, and Charly Raymond who ran 23:00, a new 5k PR and a significantly faster pace average pace than she ran for the St. Vrain 2-miler as an 8th grader. The girls placed 10th as a team.

The varsity boys ran next and were led by Finn Tierney who placed 7th with a time of 17:30, a course PR of -15s and Nathan who placed 18th with an 18:07, a -40s PR! The boys also had notable performances by Lucas who ran an 18:43, a -41s PR!, Hayden who ran a -38s course PR, and all 4 boys in the JV race set new lifetime PR's! The EPXC boys placed 6th out of 21 teams.

Thank you to the Basch and Raymond families for hosting a great team pre-meet dinner this past Friday and to the Harroff's for filling the snack box (& cooler!) for the St. Vrain meet.

Next Race - Wolverine Invite (9/15):

EPXC's next race will be the Wolverine XC Invite at Monfort Park in Greeley. This is the course that Regionals will be run at again this year. The middle and high school teams will be riding down to and back from this meet together. Class dismissal will be at 12:15pm and we will plan to be on the road by 12:30pm.

2017 EPXC Color Run (9/22):

The 4th Annual installment of the EPXC Color Run is fast approaching. Registration for a guaranteed t-shirt and sunglasses ends on Friday 9/15 @ 11pm, please register and encourage others to do so ASAP! The entry is online and entry fees can be paid at any of the district front offices or brought to the coaches.

Registration Link:

We are also still accepting sponsors for 2017 Color Run. With a minimum $40 donation, a sponsor's business logos will appear on the back of the race shirt. If you or anyone you know owns a business and would like to be a race sponsor, please send $40+ and a business logo to either Coach Harris or Stafford before 9/15 at 11pm.

Longs Peak Invite & Patriot League (9/30 & 10/7):

We need as many volunteers as possible for EPXC's two consecutive Saturday home meets on 9/30 & 10/7 from 7am - 12pm. If you are available, please consider helping out with one or both meets. Please also extend this invitation to friends and family.

There will be a race volunteer meeting on 9/29 @ 5:30pm in the high school commons. This meeting will cover information for both meets. At this meeting we will assign volunteer positions and explain responsibilities. If you plan to volunteer for either meet, please also plan to attend this meeting so that everyone knows where to go and what to do on the mornings of 9/30 & 10/7.

Team Shirts/ Parent T-Shirts:

Athletes received their new team T-shirts at the team dinner on Friday, we were a few shirts short but a new order is currently in the works. This year's shirts cost $8 each, please bring your money to practice by the end of this week.

We will also be offering parent shirts with the same logo but these will be done in purple ink on white cotton. If you are interested in purchasing a parent shirt, please send either coaches your size by the end of the week and we'll make a new order; these shirts will be $10 each.

Team Photos Rescheduled:

EPXC's team photos have been rescheduled for the last week of this month or the first week of the October. Athletes received a photo order form at the team meeting on Friday. Stay tuned for the new reschedule date soon.

Little Things... Big Effects:

Lastly, as we head into some of the hardest training weeks for the XC season it's more important than every one of our athletes are doing all of the "little things" necessary to stay healthy and get the most out of their workouts. Athletes, please make it a priority to be doing all of theses things every day; parents, please support them in doing these things however you can.

Looking forward to another great week of EPXC! GO BOBCATS!
