We are coming close to the end of the school year and cross country is going to be ramping up pretty quickly. The following news has tons of important information for the rest of May and the month of June. Please make note of the following:

First Day of Summer Training:

The first 'official' day of EPXC's Summer Training is on Tuesday, June 5 at 5:30PM at the Stanley Hotel. For June, July and till school starts in August, will have organized team runs every Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Both coaches understand that many of you all work, so please start speaking to your employers now to request those days and times to be with the team. You can find each training run on EPXC's team calendar HERE.

PARENTS: All of you are invited to these runs as well. From what we've been hearing, there is a group of parents looking to attend most trails runs/hikes. Please organize with each other.

Estes Park Marathon & Kids Fun Run Fundraiser:

One of the biggest fundraisers that the Estes Park Cross Country team has over the summer is the Estes Park Marathon and Kids Fun Run. These will be held on Saturday, June 16th for the Kids Fun Run and Sunday, June 17th for the marathon. We are needing volunteers for each day. If you can do both days that would be great! Please use the following LINK (click on 'Volunteer Sign-Up Page') to sign-up for either or both days AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

We need everyone's help!

CARA Track Volunteers:

The Estes Valley Parks and Recreation District will be hosting its annual summer CARA Track program. This excellent program is a great introduction for young runners to the awesome sport of running, and then hopefully, become future EPXC runners! Coached by Travis Menghini, every Tuesdays & Thursday from 8-9:30AM, runners develop efficient running form, drills, & cardiovascular fitness in a fun environment.

They are currently looking for volunteers to help throughout the summer. If you or anyone you know is interested, please email Nolan Oberg at: noberg@evrpd.com.

EPXC Team Captains:

Those that are interested in being EPXC's team captains, please stop by Coach Harris's room before the end of the school year to pick up applications. This great opportunity and position which is an important part of the EPXC team to lead by example and carry on the tradition of excellence.

Whew! That's it for now. We are looking forward to an awesome summer with everyone!
