Estes Park Cross Country is really ROLLING this summer! Both coaches can't stress enough how proud we are of those that have been consistently showing up to practices (and/or logging miles on your own while on vacation). With this consistency, there is no doubt we can compete with any and ALL teams in this state!! KEEP IT UP!

There is a lot of information this week, so please read this email all the way through.

Longs Peak XC Volunteer Coordinator:

EPXC is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator for this year's Longs Peak XC Meet to be held on Saturday, September 29th. The main role of the Volunteer Coordinator is reaching out community members, parents, or anyone else you can think of to volunteer at the race as course marshals, start/finish line marshals, set-up & break down. This role is vital is making the meet a success!

If you are interested, please email Coach Harris and/or Coach Stafford ASAP.

We know the meet is a ways out but we'd like to meet before the upcoming school year to go over logistics.

Tuesday Night Post-Stanley Dinners:

Because of budgetary constraints, the Stanley Hotel is only able to provide snacks and water post-run on Tuesday evenings. EPXC would like to continue the Tuesday evening dinner summer tradition as it builds camaraderie and bond for the team.

This upcoming week, dinner will be hosted at Coach Harris's home.

If you'd like to host a dinner any point this summer, please contact Coach Harris and we can post it on EPXC's weekly summer email. Again, this is great way for the team to be together in a relaxed atmosphere.

Don't Be Shy Parents:

We've had a couple of parents consistently come out to join our weekly summer runs. If you have yet to do so, we encourage you to come join. Coordinate with each other to either walk, hike, jog, or run any of EPXC's summer runs. We absolutely love the support of our awesome parents!!

EPXC Team Liaison:

Coach Harris had mentioned in the Summer Training Parent Meeting this past May, however, we are looking for a team liaison to represent EPXC not only at the Bobcat Booster meetings but other responsibilities that would include:

  • - attending all BACers meetings,
  • - assisting with Color Run race day duties,
  • - locker decorating for each meet (Mary Zurfluh would like help with this),
  • - and other duties discussed with the coaches before the season begins.

If you are interested, could you please send an email to both Coach Harris and/or Coach Stafford.

Fall Sports Physicals:

Every athlete for each year they participate in any EPHS sport, needs a sports physical on file. It is better to do it now than waiting to the first week of school to try to cram everything in. Please make every effort to get this done ASAP and turn it in to Coach Harris or the front office.
