It has been another great week for the EPXC team! Below is a brief recap of EPXC's last meet and some important information on upcoming events. PLEASE read carefully and sign up for any and all volunteer opportunities, if you are available.
Washington Park Invitational
This past Thursday, August 30th, the EPXC team had an excellent set of races at the Washington Park Invitational. The EPXC girls varsity team stole the show, placing 1st Overall as a team at the meet, beating out 4A and 5A schools in the process! All of the girls ran strong races, and our top 4 runners were in the top 15, with EPXC freshman runner Brooke setting a lifetime PR, taking 55 seconds off of her time.
The EPXC boys varsity team placed 8th overall, however, finished second among 3A schools; beaten out only by Skyview Academy. The boys had strong individual performances, including new lifetime PRs for Javier (-30s), Cole (-33s), Atlas (-1:00), and Hayden (-1:02)!
The JV races were run on a 2 mile course and both EPXC teams ran great races. Coach Harris has a spreadsheet with the team's individual results (including 5k conversions for the 2 mile race) and a link to the full results for the invitational. Please get with him to see those conversions.
We would also like to thank the Harroff family for hosting team dinner and to the Daleys for filling the snack box this week!
In addition to the Washington Park Invitational, EPXC also had a group of 13 athletes compete in the FORTitude 10k in Fort Collins on Monday morning, Labor Day. Although this was run at tempo pace, many of theathletes placed very well in OR even won their age group! A HUGE "Thank You" to the Stein family for providing free entry for our teams! Results below:

The Estes Park Cross Country will be aqua jogging every Tuesday morning this season in the pool at the Community Center. Practice will begin at 6:45AM (so be there at 6:40AM) and will go until 7:30AM. Please note that this is not mandatory, but it is a great supplement for athletes who need higher training volume without added impact stress on their legs; it is particularly beneficial for the athletes with shin splints.
On Friday, September 7th, EPXC will plan to meet at 6:30AM at the track shed for our pre-meet run. After school, there will be a brief team meeting in Coach Harris's room, then team dinner at the Basch's house.
St. Vrain Invitational
On Saturday, September 8th, EPXC will be attending the St. Vrain Invitational in Lyons. This is the closest meet to Estes Park all Fall and a very spectator friendly course If any parent(s) are available, we’d love to have you come down to support the team. More EPXC fans on the course makes for faster races! Coach Harris will send a meet sheet with more information later this week.
Color Run Sign Up
The EPXC team will be hosting the 5th Annual Estes Park Color Run on Thursday, September 13th at 4:00PM. EPXC's Color Run is a 1-mile 'Fun Run/Walk' around the Estes Park School District campus starting on Manford Avenue and finishing in the stadium. Runners go through various 'color stations' as well as having EPXC runners following every step of the way, covering participants in purple and white colored powder as they run. This annual event coincides with the high school's homecoming football game and will be the first of many community events taking place on Thursday leading up to the game on Friday. Run finishers leave the race looking like Bobcats Super Fans! Volunteers needed on Thursday 9/13 from 3:30-4:30PM. (Click Here to Volunteer)
Longs Peak Invitational & Race For Chase
We are less than a month away from our home XC meet “The Longs Peak Invitational” on Saturday, September 29th at the Lake Estes 9-hole golf course. Volunteers Needed (Click Here to Volunteer)
