Can you believe we're at only 1-MORE Week till the end of school? And with the current weather, it feels more like February than we're headed for summer, LOL.
We know we said the first EPXC summer weekly email would be out around June 1st; however, there is just too much information before the start of summer and we don't want to overload anyone.
So, without further ado, please read through the follow email carefully:
EPXC Summer Training Binder
EPXC's Summer Training Binders are complete and distributed to most athletes. For those that have yet to receive their Estes Park Cross Country Summer Training Binder, please see Coach Harris ASAP; there are copies waiting for you. EPXC's Summer Training Binders can be also found HERE, but we need everyone to have an physical binder in hand. All info (dates, practice times, contact info, team philosophy, trail run locations and descriptions… etc.) even our fall schedule for your calendars can be found in the summer training booklet.
Both coaches are requiring EVERYONE to log your miles and other workouts in your binder consistently over the summer (even when you go on summer vacation). This will be one of the considerations to be part of the team camp. We will be collecting the booklets towards the end of the summer.
**Parents** If you have not done so already, once your son/daughter has received their binder, we ask that you take a some time to sit and go through it together. There is A TON of information and we want to ensure that everyone is abreast of all items. If there are any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to contact one of us.
2019 EPXC Team Captains:
Those runners that are interested in being EPXC's team captains, please also see Coach Harris as soon as possible for an application. This is a great opportunity and position which is an important part of the EPXC team to lead by example and carry on the tradition of excellence, dedication, selflessness and drive.
***IMPORTANT*** Estes Park Cross Country team captains will be chosen around the beginning of August. This means if you have already or are planning on submitting an application, both coaches will EXPECT you to exemplify over this summer that you are extremely interested in being an EPXC team captain (i.e. summer attendance, logging mileage, dedication, "putting out", organizing your teammates to come out for summer training,... AND that just naming a few traits we'll be looking for).
Of the many platforms we use to communicate with runners and parents, Remind.com is commonly used for short, pertinent info. You should have received a text message to sign-up. If you have not done so, please let us know and we can add you to the EPXC list (athletes sign up here, parents here).
On Monday, May 27th, is THE BIGGEST 10K in the entire US, the BOLDERBoulder. (Registration can be found HERE). If you plan on doing this race, please let Coach Stafford now ASAP. We’ll let you know where we'll meet after your race.
Lastly, remember any and all things relating to Estes Park Cross Country can be found on our team’s website: www.estesparkxc.com. AND, please frequent our team calendar as EPXC is jam-packed with races, practices, events, etc. throughout the season.
You all can also follow us on our team Facebook page HERE!
